2019 NFC West – NFL Division Preview

The NFC West has been the home to some powerhouse teams. All four teams are in possession of at least one Lombardi Trophy. The Rams are coming off a Super Bowl loss and the other teams are fighting to get back to the big game. Do any of them stand a chance? Will the division be mired in mediocrity or will the abundance of potential shine through?

The Rams are a maturing team. From their Coach and Quarterback, all of the Rams’ returning players learned a lot from their disappointing Super Bowl loss. Combine this with dynamic rookies like Running Back Darrell Henderson and Safety Taylor Rapp and tie it all together with Todd Gurley III, arguably the best running back in the league, you have a team that will be hard to beat.

Team To Watch: Arizona Cardinals

With Heisman winning Quarterback Kyler Murray, the Cardinals are going to be on everyone’s radar. Rookie Wide Receiver Andy Isabella will make a great target for Murray. Watch for this duo to grow together. Going into his third season as a Cardinal, keep an eye on Strong Safety Budda Baker.

Biggest Disappointment: San Francisco 49ers

Kyle Shanahan may save San Francisco from their extended slump, but this will not be the year. Nick Bosa, the number two draft pick in 2019, is injured. This is the luck that has befallen the 49ers since 2015. Other than their sophomore head coach, San Francisco’s greatest hope lies in their depth at Quarterback. Jimmy Garoppolo has Nick Mullens (who had a great debut last season) and rookie Wilton Speight right behind him for support.
