NFC Divisional Round Recap

The divisional weekend in the NFC had its fair share of surprises, from a unlikely upset to gutwrenching walk off play. The Falcons were  beaten by the Eagles on the road. This was thanks to a great running game and a stout defense. Meanwhile, in the midwest, the Saints suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Vikes .

Atanta Falcons @ Philadelphia Eagles

Early mistakes by the Eagles almost ended this divisional matchup before it started. An erid throw and a fumble by Jay Ajayi put the home team in an early hole. However Philadelphia was able to pull it together before the end of the 1st half. The always stout Eagles defense stifled the Falcons after the intermission and held thrm scoreless for the remainder of the contest. Matt Ryan didn’t do enough this game completing  just 61% of his passes for 210 yards and a touchdown. The end result was 15-10 Eagles win

New Orleans Saints @ Minnesota Vikings

The Saints and Vikings got into a shoot out late in their dividionsl round match up. Both Drew Brees and Case Keenum threw for nearly 300 yards and multiple touchdowns. But it was the Vikings that were able to make the play of the game on a 61 yard catch by Steffon Diggs. The Saints covered the play well but a missed tackle in an effort to avoid a pentalty by Marcus Williams allowed Diggs to sprint free.
